Meyer is excited to announce 1 SDI Drive has received a LEED Silver certification! This NEW 143,000 SF "Class A" office building was developed by Exeter Property Group and designed by Meyer Architects, Inc.
Material conservation strategies such as selecting building materials with high recycled content, as well as materials that are extracted, harvested and manufactured locally, and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified products were key components of the design of the Core and Shell. Additionally, during construction of the Core and Shell, nearly 95% of the waste was diverted from landfills.
Other Sustainability features:
- Building was designed to save 9% of annual energy costs, due to building siting, superior thermal performance of walls, and efficient mechanical systems
- Low-flow plumbing fixtures and waterless urinals were selected to conserve water (approximately 35% more than typical plumbing)
- Smoking is prohibited in the building, and allowed only on site grounds that are 25 feet away from the building. The building's mechanical systems also have the capacity to monitor carbon dioxide and the HVAC system has been designed with increased ventilation capabilities when circumstances call for it.
- Large areas of continuous glass were implemented, starting from a sill height of 2'6" and extending up to 12' above the floor to allow daylight permeate the space and present views to the exterior from anywhere in the building.
